Phase 2: Concrete Diagnostics & Moisture Mitigation
Subfloor moisture and elevated alkalinity are the leading causes of commercial flooring failures. At Dixie Contract, we treat concrete testing as a mandatory technical milestone, not an afterthought.
- Scientific Testing: We conduct rigorous testing for Relative Humidity (RH) using in-situ probes and measure Moisture Vapor Emission Rate (MVER) strictly according to current ASTM standards.
- Moisture Mitigation: If elevated moisture levels are detected, we engineer and install specialized epoxy vapor-barrier primers and alkali-resistant underlayments to completely isolate the finished floor from the slab.
Phase 3: Mechanical Surface Preparation
We never rely on superficial patching or shortcuts. We prepare substrates mechanically to achieve a permanent, unyielding bond.
- Advanced Equipment: Utilizing industrial, dust-controlled diamond grinders and shot-blasting equipment, we clean the slab and establish the exact Concrete Surface Profile (CSP) mandated by material manufacturers.
- Slab Remediation: Our field crews expertly apply self-leveling underlayments, crack-suppression membranes, and deep joint treatments to transform imperfect structural concrete into a perfectly flat, stable substrate.
